Abstract

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly developed, technologies such as deepfake is becoming more advanced and widely used. Deepfake is a synthetic media creation process in which certain features of an existing image or video are replaced by the features of someone or something else. Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) is generally considered to be the most effective method in creating deepfake media. Deepfake is useful in various fields, such as politics, translation, education, and entertainment. This paper reviews the generation, detection, and use cases of deepfake.
